November 2005 This month we often did not have the good visibility that we normally have, on some of the dives it was really very bad, but we saw some pretty amazing things. The weather in general was good, and the sea calm. We had a very strong current, of sometimes very cold water too, on several of our dives. These pictures have been taken at various dive sites. On several occasions and at various places we saw Guitar Sharks, Flying Gurnards, and baby Manta's. We also saw Whale Sharks and Manta Rays on the surface (once a Manta Ray leaped out of the water completely) on several occasions, and snorkeled with them.

Brissare Rocks
A great dive site with
virtually always some White Tip Reef Sharks, and a really magnificent
under water scenery. We had good visibility during all of our dives here
and always lots to see. The picture below and the ones on the right have
been taken on this site.

Silhouette We made our dives at Point Etienne and Grand Barbe. Unfortunately the sea was quite rough at Grand Barbe and we had bad visibility but there were many things to see, including Eagle Rays, Humpheaded Parrotfish, Barracuda's, Nurse Shark and many lobsters. At Point Ettiene the sea was much calmer, and we saw several Stingrays, White Tip Reef Sharks, a Nurse Shark, Giant Moray, and many Sweetlips. The pictures above and at the one on the right are from Silhouette. The view from Silhouette has been taken through the window of the old colonial house where we prepared our Creole BBQ lunch. |

L'ilot This is L'ilot, a beautiful little rock island with a few palm trees in the middle. As beautiful as it is on the surface it is also underwater. A beautiful rocky landscape with colorful encrusted rocks and loads of fish. See pictures below and right.

Jackpot There is no dull moment, this site is busy with action, you can just hover about and look around, and see fish all around during the whole dive. And all that in a scenery of rocks full with soft corals, moray eels and spiny lobsters. See pictures below. |
