March 2005 In general we had good weather and good visibility. Plankton came up now and then, hence we were able to spot some WHALE SHARKS during the first half of the month. Snorkeling with WHALE SHARKS just off the dive site Chuckles |

Grand Barbe & Lascars Our first dive was at Grand Barbe where we had excellent visibility and very little current. There were many Lionfish , a big Giant Moray, many Lobsters, a marbled Stingray and two Eagle Rays, around the beautiful encrusted rocks at the corner. Two small barracuda's and many sweetlips were also there, as well as some Humphead Parrotfish and some juvenile saddleback groupers. Also at Lascars we had good visibility and little current, The dive site has little coral growth but a beautiful granite landscape full of fish. There was a White Tip Reef Shark in the distance, a Marbled Stingray, and 2 Hawksbill Turtles. Under rocks are spots where Lobsters are gathering by the dozens, and Big Saddleback Groupers like to hang out there, as well as the black snappers and some Batfish. |

Silhouette Island The Island is wild and beautiful. When there is no surf at all we like to land at Anse Mondon, but mostly we land on the Anse La Passe. From there you can walk to the planters house which can be seen on the right picture. But also you can walk towards Anse Cemitere and visit the impressive but neglected Mausoleum where also Giant Tortoises walk around free. |

Aquarium We had quite good visibility here most of the dives and interesting things to see. A white Leaf Fish was sitting in plain view during one of the dives, and on a couple of others we saw Lobsters in the 5th coral hill. Hawksbill Turtles, and Eagle Rays, but also Flag Tail Stingrays could be seen looking for food in the sand. |
