August 2005
The weather in general was quite windy, but warm and sunny, the ocean temperature still 25 degrees Celsius. And the visibility overall was not very good. But we had some literally GREAT DIVING. There was loads of plankton in the water, and that particularly on the surface. A good thing as we then saw many WHALE SHARKS! These gentile giants stayed around for weeks and we saw them during our dives or after the dives on the surface when we snorkeled with them. Often there were several of these big girls in the water, and we often had long and real close encounters with them.

Light House
Because of the Whale Sharks we made many of our dives at this dive site. The visibility was often not good, but the dives were great. Big schools of the Big Eye Trevally were there, Humphead Parrotfish, many stingrays, and Octopus were to be seen during the dives. But also a number of green Leaf Fishes were there, Great Moray Eels, and lot's of Lion Fish.

BBQ at Anse du Riz in Bay Ternay
The BBQ trips to Bay Ternay Marine Park were great too. At one of our trips we encountered extremely low tide in the inland pool. We had never seen it that low before, you could walk al the way through to the stream where the mangroves grow and the fishes could be seen swimming in between their roots.

Aquarium
Although the ocean looked like a plankton soup, the visibility was okay during most of our dives here,
and we certainly had good sightings. During one of the dives the Hawksbill was there in her usual spot,
and she stayed around for a while, we could also stroke her. There was also a Feathertail Stingray,
and a Devil Scorpion Fish. During another dive a baby Stingray was resting at the place where we
usually see some lobsters. And the White Leaf Fish was there sitting in it's usual spot.

Fisherman's Cove Reef
We had real nice dives here with Green Turtles and lot's of reef fishes, Spiny Lobsters in between healthy corals. We also had many schooling fusiliers, and in the sandy area the big Queen Helmets as always.
